Tinker AI is an independent comparison and review site for AI coding tools. We test every tool we cover for at least 2 hours of real work on production codebases, and our deep reviews involve a complete end-to-end project with the tool.

How we test

1. Set up the tool fresh on a real machine (not an isolated demo project).
2. Use it for at least 2 hours of actual production work.
3. Test agent mode, multi-file edits, and inline completion (where available).
4. Compare against tools in the same category for context.
5. Capture screenshots of real interactions.
6. Score each tool 1-10 on UX, capability, pricing fairness, and reliability.

Why we exist

The AI coding tool space is moving faster than any single tool maker can keep up with. Reviews on social media are usually surface-level or sponsored. We exist to be the place developers can find honest, hands-on takes — independent of vendor relationships.
